Paris. Day 1...

Bonjour!

So if you follow me on twitter or Instagram (@jessica_chelsey) you will have already seen that last week my boyfriend decided to whisk me off to Paris to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. It was magical!

The first photo is me being a sweaty betty when we finally arrived at our hotel at about 10am after being up since 3am. We booked the holiday with lastminute.com and it was amazing! We got a lift from home to Luton airport and got on our flight at about 8.30am. We then got a Roissy Bus from Paris Charles De Gaulle airport to a bus stop in Opera. From here we got the metro to Republique and walked across the road to our beautiful hotel The Crowne Plaza Republique. It all sounds like such a faff but honestly we found it surprisingly easy to find our way around. It was just SO hot. That was what made it feel harder than it actually was. Lugging our suitcases around in 30 degree heat after already being awake for 7 hours.

Our hotel was beautiful and the location was equally so. The next two photos are our view from our room on the top floor of the hotel. We could actually see the Eiffel Tower which was amazing! We decided that the first and last days we would explore Paris and the two middle days (including our actual anniversary) we would go to Disneyland.

We showered and got changed and hopped back on the metro to the Eiffel Tower. The queues were insane! It was a Saturday and very sunny and hot so it seemed alllllll the tourists were out. We decided to leave going up the Tower until the last day and bought ourselves an open bus tour ticket. These were such a good purchase because you get to hop on and off all over the city and its an open top bus so the wind in our hair was much more welcome than the hot crammed metro. The photos you see above are from different sites on the bus tour. All of the touristy places are on there.

We got off by the Notre Dame as this was something we both really wanted to see. It was incredible. So beautiful and so impressive! There was a really long queue but it was moving quickly so we got in it and entered the Notre Dame for free. Inside I lit a few candles for my loved ones lost. It was stunning. So peaceful even with all of the tourists!

After being all over Paris in 35 degree heat we decided to head back to our hotel. Shower again. Then head out for dinner and then bed. We went to a little Italian restaurant near the hotel which seems odd as we were in France but it was close by, seemed popular, had a good menu and outdoor seating so we sat down and enjoyed a beautiful meal together.

What a wonderful first day in Paris! My first ever day in Paris! The boyf had been as a child but this was my first time and I cant recommend it enough! Coming soon will be Day 2 so keep your eyes peeled for that and if you have any questions about where we stayed, what we did or what I wore just ask in the comments below and I will reply asap!

Peace, Love and Paris xxx
